4 Things That Every Indian Woman Is Stressed About
Poor Career Choices: Indian women mostly, sacrifice their careers or choose careers that help them concentrate on their families. In India, women are burdened with the management of their homes. Many women wake up in the wee hours to make breakfast and lunch for their family. They end up working hard at home to make their family happy. So, they are mostly convinced by choosing careers that help them manage their families better. Their careers are at their families' disposal. Half their life goes trying to strike a work-life balance.
Low self-esteem and self-limiting factors: A problem almost every Indian home maker faces is "Low self-esteem". The society throws lot of questions at women. There are series of negative remarks that a woman has to face in her battle to be confident. Women who have sacrificed their careers often compare themselves with working women. Women, who work, are bombarded with many traditional convictions. Self-limiting factors also contribute to women's stress. They don't chase their passion; often succumb to the demands of the society to be a good-mother or a good-daughter or a good-wife.
Inflexible workplace and Gender bias: Even in workplace, the gender bias is evident. Women are mostly not seen on the higher positions. A person's competence in judged based on the hours spent at the work place. Women often have to overcompensate to prove their commitment to work. Work culture in India does not support women. It does not have enough flexibility to help them manage work-life.
Stress that comes with Pre and post maternal breaks: This is a crucial part in any women's life. They have to face lot of changes in their health, in their family and their work. They are emotionally vulnerable at this time. Most of the organizations in India do not support women during this transition.
How can women overcome this?

It is very crucial for organizations that believe in advancement of women and also for women who believe that they can make a greater impact in work. Mentoring women helps an organization to tap the strength their female workforce better. It helps women to move in their career path without much stress.

- Take bold decisions that drive them to achieve their goals
